MASTER SHINPO MATAYOSHI
10^th Dan Zen Okinawan Kobudo Renmei
1921 – 1997

Studied under the direction of his father Shinko Matayoshi and founded the Ryukyu Kobudo Renmei, Naha, Okinawa.  Master Matayoshi's teachings were traditional Kobudo with development of the body and spirit of students.  He favored the development of high moral values.  In 1972, his organization was named the Zen Okinawa Kobudo Renmei.  Master Matayoshi was a member of the Dai Nippon Butokukai, the association of Japanese martial arts masters.
